Project Overview

Auditions are now open for young performers in the folk-rock musical 'Wakeman'. This production tells the true story of Sarah Rosetta Wakeman, a young woman who disguised herself as a man to join the Union Army during the Civil War. Her experiences are vividly depicted through a series of letters to her family, detailing her life as Private Lyons Wakeman in the 153rd New York Infantry. The musical features original songs by lyricist/composer Jenn Grinels, highlighting themes of identity and the pursuit of the American Dream.
