Project Overview
Join us for a two-week workshop of a new musical set in a traveling vaudeville tent, where two boys discover magic, mystery, and a sense of belonging.
Workshop Details
- Director: Miss Hazel Jade, a respected dramaturge with Broadway and West End experience.
- Dates: August 3-14
- Final Presentation: A costumed, on-book reading at Music Theater Heritage's Ruby Room at Crown Center on Saturday night, August 15th.
- Filming: The reading will be professionally filmed for an industry-facing sizzle reel to be presented to Broadway and West End producers.
Compensation
- Remuneration: $1,500 (to help offset travel, lodging, and living expenses).
Additional Notes
Performers are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and living expenses.

3Lincoln Foster
Aspirational, earnest theater kid growing into courage. Vocal: High Tenor (F#3–C5), contemporary pop/rock musical theatre voice. Must convincingly play 12–14.
Alex
Trans boy. Ragged, soulful survivalist with deep emotional strength. Vocal: Countertenor (G3–E5), soulful pop sound with powerful high notes. Note: Trans boys and trans masculine performers are encouraged to submit; cis boy performers may also submit. Casting will prioritize talent and role fit. Must convincingly play 12.
Understudy /Astrolabe/Chorus
Covers Lincoln and Alex. Also performs as The Shadow, a silent physical presence onstage (black Zentai costume), and helps fill out the chorus.
