About the Project:
Join us for 'Chicken & Biscuits', a comedic exploration of Black joy, grief, and healing. This play brings an extended family together at St. Luke’s Church, where a significant family secret is about to be unveiled. Two sisters reunite during a celebration of life for their family patriarch, whose infamous dry chicken and biscuits were known only to him. As family dynamics unfold, Beverly arrives with her 'blessings' on display, Baneatta’s son introduces his Jewish boyfriend, and Beverly’s inquisitive daughter raises uncomfortable questions. Amidst the chaos, Baneatta’s husband, Reginald, strives to maintain harmony as the sisters confront a truth that could either mend or fracture their bond. Prepare for a heartfelt experience filled with laughter and reflection.

Audition Requirements
- Please prepare a 60-90 second monologue and a 16-bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show.
- Note: No a cappella performances. An accompanist will be provided.
Compensation
- Non-Union Rate: $500/week + housing for understudies
- AEA Rate: $565/week (Single Engagement Agreement)
