Opportunities are available for boys and girls to participate in the theatrical production of 'The Rise of Houdini'. Please see the details below.
Roles
- All roles are non-AEA and considered volunteer positions with a paid stipend.
- Stipend ranges from $400 to $1200, depending on the size of the role and the length of the play.
Dates & Deadlines
- Callbacks for specific shows will be held on dates to be announced.
- Rehearsal Schedule: Five days a week, Sunday to Thursday, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
- Most full shows have a six-week rehearsal period. Actors will have the Monday before opening off.
- Performance Schedule for full shows: 4 shows per week.
- Fridays at 7:30 PM
- Saturdays at 1 PM and 7:30 PM
- Sundays at 2 PM
- First Read: September 15
- Tech Rehearsal: October 22
- Show Dates: October 23, 24, 30 & 31 (four shows only)

1The Necromancer/Conjurer
The person who plays this role is a professional magician with a reputation for magic and for putting on magic shows. They perform several tricks for which they are known, involving audience members as volunteers. But that is where their personal magic ends, and our script begins. They lead the seance to raise Houdini, and the magician’s assistant assumes the role of Houdini. But when an audience member calls foul, the Necromancer begins a very dark spell that opens a portal to the spirits
