About This Casting
Project Overview
Casting kids ages 10 and up for the production of 'Big The Musical'.
Important Note: Only local talent will be accepted.
Compensation
- All roles receive a $500 rehearsal stipend.
- Per-show rate ranges from $55 to $70.
- Swings receive a $500 rehearsal stipend, a $100-per-week on-call stipend during the run, and a $70-per-show rate for any shows they cover.
- Please note that there are no AEA/Equity contracts available for this production.
Schedule
- Rehearsals: Oct. 11 - Nov. 19, 2026
- Performances: Nov. 20 - Dec. 27, 2026
Submission Requirements
- Prepare 16–32 measures of a song.
- Include a short monologue or a story about your favorite Christmas or a family memory.
- Upload a digital copy of a headshot (or photo) and a resume.

3(Young) Josh Baskin
Vocal Range: Tenor (F3 – G5) Dance: Dancer Innocent, funny, and obsessed with video games and Cynthia. After an unfortunate incident in front of her involving his height and a carnival ride, he makes a wish to be “big,” thinking that being an adult will solve all of his problems.
Billy Kopecki
Vocal Range: Tenor (F#3 – F5) Dance: Dancer Young Josh’s best friend – supportive, street smart, and funny. He is the only one who knows what happens to Josh, and he does his best to help Josh navigate adulting while searching for a way back to his teenage self.
Ensemble
Vocal Range: Varied Dance: Dancer The ensemble will play various roles such as Josh’s school friends, kids in the toy store, and more.
