Casting Call for Teen Roles in 'The Lady Who Lights the Candles' Play

Project Overview

Seeking local talent for the play 'The Lady Who Lights the Candles'. This story follows Briona, an African-American, and Alison, a Caucasian, two Catholic high schoolers whose friendship is challenged by the tensions of the Boston Busing Crisis of 1973.

Rehearsal Schedule

• Summer Rehearsals: Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting the week of May 5th. Exact times will be determined based on actors’ availability.

Location

• Rehearsals: Zoom until June 25th, followed by in-person rehearsals in Cambridge, MA.

Important Dates

• Tech Dates for Forbes House Museum Showcase: July 17 & 18
• Performance Date for Forbes House Museum: July 25, 2026
• Fall House Plays Showcase: Venue, rehearsal, and tech schedule to be determined.

Compensation

• Rate: $562.50 for both Summer and Fall showcases.
