Directors are seeking youth actors aged 13 and above for a lively adaptation of 'The Emperor’s New Threads'. This humorous retelling features bold characters, clever dialogue, and playful theatricality, following a fashion-obsessed emperor whose vanity leads him to be deceived by two cunning tricksters until an unexpected voice reveals the truth.

2026 marks the 13th season of the Summer Theatre Troupe, an established platform for aspiring young performers to connect, learn from professionals, and gain valuable performance experience in a supportive environment.

Dates & Deadlines

• Rehearsals: Wednesday to Sunday
• Performance Duration: June 27 - August 4, 2026
• Deadline to Apply: April 15, 2026

Compensation

• This is a volunteer position with a $500 honorarium paid upon completion of the volunteer commitment.

Audition Requirements

• Prepare the following:
  • One short song (acapella) of 16 bars
  • One short monologue (30–60 seconds); comedic or story-based preferred
  • Suitable options include fairy tales, fables, or playful contemporary monologues.
• Must be available for the entire duration of rehearsals and performances.
