Description:
Join us for a hilarious celebration of Black joy, grief, and healing in 'Chicken & Biscuits.' This play brings an extended family back to St. Luke’s Church, where a heavy family secret is on the verge of being revealed. Two sisters reunite at the celebration of life for their family patriarch, whose infamous dry chicken and biscuits were only famous to him. As family tensions rise, Beverly arrives with her “blessings” on display, Baneatta’s son brings his Jewish boyfriend, and Beverly’s inquisitive daughter asks questions no one wants to answer. While Baneatta’s husband, Reginald, tries to maintain peace, the sisters confront a truth that could either heal or break them. Get ready to grab a fan, take a seat in the pew, and say “amen.”

Compensation

• Non-Union Rate: $500/week + housing for understudies
• AEA Rate: $565/week (Single Engagement Agreement)

Audition Requirements:
Please prepare a 60-90 second monologue and a 16-bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. No a cappella. An accompanist will be provided.
