Synopsis: The play follows a version of the playwright herself as she revisits her teenage years, giving competitive speeches about the Constitution to earn college money. It blends memoir, debate, and theatrical storytelling, interrogating how this foundational document has shaped the lives of women across generations. The play culminates in a live constitutional debate, questioning the relevance of this centuries-old framework in a modern democracy.

Dates & Deadlines

• First Rehearsal: February 2nd, 2027
• Previews: January 24th-25th, 2027
• Opening: January 26th, 2027
• Closing: February 21st, 2027

Location

• Audition Venue: Playwrights Lab - 2nd Floor, Atlanta, GA
• Audition Date: Space opens at 8:30 AM, conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Compensation

• Contract Type: Independent Theatre Contract
• Weekly Rate: $623 minimum

Additional Information

• Audition Preparation: Please prepare a 2-3 minute contemporary monologue and/or a short song in the style of the season's shows. An accompanist will be provided. Bring an up-to-date headshot and resume, stapled together, and your Equity Membership card.
• Video Submissions: Accepted until May 15th, 2026, for those unable to attend in person.
