About This Casting
Project Overview
Casting local child actors aged 5-10 for upcoming video clips designed for an online training system for nurses and counselors.
Roles
- Seeking children to portray patients and families in a hospital/nursing setting.
- Actors will work with prepared character backgrounds and scripted language/prompts, with opportunities for improvisation.
Dates & Deadlines
- Expected filming date is July 26, with ongoing needs for future projects.
Location
- Vancouver, BC, Canada
Compensation
- Pay is $400 CAD for up to a half day on location, covering both location time and preparation time.
Additional Information
- All experience levels are welcome to apply. Directors prioritize a respectful and safe environment with open communication and respect for boundaries.
- Comfortable fluency in English is required.
- Authenticity is important; preference will be given to actors who match specific cultural backgrounds and gender identities/expressions, and who have some experience with hospitalization and medical treatment, as well as familiarity with certain medical conditions.

Child (age 5-10 or can realistically play that age) and their parent (all other demographics are acceptable). Ideally a real parent/child pair. Though not a must-have, it would be nice to recruit a parent/child dyad who have had their own experiences in the past of being hospitalized due to a medical issue so they can draw on those experiences for our improv cases.
